Found Objects Sculptor
I recently discovered Bart Vargas when I was researched ideas for our installation piece. The works I am most captivated by are "The Bitter Pill (2010)" "The Golden Bottleball (2010)" and "E-Waste Sculptures (2010)".
Finding his work came at the right time for me. It hasn't been until this year that I have felt a spark in me to create sculptures. Prior to this year I was never too interested in sculpture work, writing it off before really giving it a chance. I also have been nervous about moving to Los Angeles and not having the needed materials and space to create and build sculptures. However, I have realized, partly due to Bart Vargas' work and our class, that I can create artwork out of the simplest objects found everywhere and anywhere.
I hope this spark stays with me in the months to come after graduation and I want to create art out of found objects. For our specific installation I will use only junk of my own.

Hey the place I was thinking of in San Pedro is, if my memory is correct, Angel's Gate Cultural Center.
