One Week Away

We are one week away from our opening. After many, many selection hours I have almost all my photos down to the final 16. Tomorrow I will official select the 16, edit them, and hopefully print so on Sunday I can frame them all up. I tested the whole frame deal this evening. I like some of the aesthetic ideas I came up with. One hill I am going to have to climb is cutting the plexi and also drilling holes into the thinner pieces. I discovered tonight that with the drill press (at least with the speed it is at now) in our shop the plexi breaks when drilling holes into it. I do want some of the edges to be cracked, but  I need the holes!
Tomorrow we are going to the space to clear out our previous installation. Rachel and I will be talking specifics after we clear out space.

One to the next one!

The next project I will be embarking on for Sculpture Class is part of Rachel and my senior design project (see next post for details).
I will create a large baby mobile to hang in the gallery. From the mobile my photographs will hang.

Example of Mobile:

I would like the bars to be simple and to have a total of 7 photos hanging from the mobile. So I will need a total of 3 bars which will make space for 6 photos and then I will have one from the middle like the above photo shows.
